Legacy of a Journey

In 1775, 30 families joined Juan Bautista de Anza, Captain of the Presidio of Tubac in Sonora, in an expedition through largely unfamiliar terrain, in search of opportunity in Alta California. This small group of Hispanic settlers founded the City of San Francisco. The Exchange, in collaboration with the Arizona Department of Transportation and the Park Service, produced a bilingual educational documentary to tellt this story. Below is an excerpt of this video.
